Could someone on this forum recommend a guitar for me? Or at least tell me what they are rocking out on?
I've been meaning to get a new guitar for... 1...2... 8 years now! But that old First Act guitar just has so much soul in it. Sadly it has took a turn for the worse and will no longer work while plugged into an amp. I also need an acoustic guitar; my last one got stolen!
I play all types of music, but I mostly play wide varieties of rock and metal, if that helps you any.
I really need one. I have people begging me to get one.
Much obliged.

Hi suumcuique,
Welcome to our forum. It would seem that you are not a total beginner to playing guitar as you stated that you put a few good years onto your first act guitar. You may all ready know that choosing a guitar has several factors involved. Price, quality and how it feels are some of them. I think buying second hand can be a good choice. pawn shops are sometimes a good place to look. Just make sure you try it out and that it works properly. And don't be afraid to ask for a better price than the one on the guitar. guitars have different size necks, so be sure that it feels comfortable. As for they particular type... there are so many types to choose from that it would be impossible to list all choices. Some of the better guitars are made by Gibson, Fender, and Ibanez, but there are many others. May be you could check some out and list the one you like best and we could maybe offer more advice. There are other guitar players here that will prolly also give you some info.

I have issues committing to something, and since a new guitar is quite the investment, I don't want to be stuck with something I don't like. Thank you for your suggestions!!!

Hey Mike... Good to see you. You might remember me as Emjay I would be thinking more about what sound I wanted from a guitar... Gibson, Fender, Epiphone and Ibanez all sound different imo.... But all are excellent guitars. My suggestion is go to a music store and try out the best there is in each brand of guitar and work your way down from there. Look for the second hand guitar of the one you liked the most. Buy it and you'll love it. Make the decision.
